The petition
We, voters of Deschutes County, do not want Steve Dennison to continue as our County Clerk.
The county's own independent auditor has raised serious concerns about the Clerk's office:
- In 2025, the auditor reported that the Clerk refused to discuss or provide information about the security of the county's vote-counting system, even though county code requires every county officer to give the auditor access. [2025 audit report, p. 7–9]
- The 2024 audit found staff sharing logins, security controls switched off, and loose money controls. Four of its 13 recommendations remain open. [2024 audit]
- In the May 2024 primary, some Deschutes County ballot packets were mailed in another county's envelopes. [KTVZ]
